Privacy Policy for FavPicks
1. Overview
FavPicks ("the App") is built around one principle: your favorites are yours. All the content you record — links, images, and notes — is stored on your own device by default. We do not operate servers, we do not ask you to create an account, and we cannot access the records you keep. This policy explains what data the App handles, which permissions it uses, and what actually leaves your device.
2. Information We Handle
- Your records (links, images, comments): processed and stored entirely on your device. They are not transmitted to us or to any server we control.
- Usage counters: the App keeps a local count of the days you have used it (to decide when to show the subscription offer) and your settings preferences. This data never leaves your device.
- Purchases: all payments are processed by Apple through the App Store, in accordance with Apple's Privacy Policy. We only receive a confirmation that your subscription or one-time purchase is active.
- Sign in with Apple (optional): if you choose to use it, the App stores only the Apple-provided user identifier on your device. We do not receive or store your name, email address, or any other Apple account information.
- Beyond these, we collect no personal information.
3. What Leaves Your Device
- Link previews: when you paste a share link, the App requests the linked platform's public metadata endpoint (e.g., an official oEmbed API) to fetch the title and cover image. That request contains only the URL you pasted — not your identity. The platform you linked to may log the request (including your IP address) under its own privacy policy.
- iCloud sync (optional, off by default): if you enable it, your records sync between your own devices through your private iCloud database, managed by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy. We have no access to this data.
- Export: you may export your archived records into a document via the system share sheet (AirDrop, Files, Mail, etc.). This is a deliberate action by you, and the destination you choose is governed by that third party.
4. System Permissions
- Photos: used only when you attach an image to a record.
- Calendar (write-only): used by the Pro "auto-sync to calendar" feature to add an event for each archived favorite. The App cannot read your existing events.
- Notifications: used for your daily record and archive reminders. Reminders are scheduled locally and never contain your record content.
- You can revoke these permissions at any time in iOS Settings without affecting other features.
5. What We Never Do
We never sell, rent, or share your data. The App contains no third-party analytics, no advertising SDKs, and no tracking. There is no company server that your records could end up on.
